About
My History – Why am I here?
My name is Wayne Harvey and sometimes I feel like a Dinosaur in the Internet Marketing World. I’ve only been on a computer since 1995. (I was 45) Until then I never thought I’d need to know how to operate a computer. Boy, I was wrong!
One day my kids Swim Coach grabbed me in the hall and told me he wanted me to run the team’s swim meets. I was already a Swimming official and knew the rules. So, off to the store I went. $ 3000.00 later I was hunt and pecking through a program that ran in DOS! Not even Windows 95. The meets were also my 1st. experience with out sourcing as I had a problem, in that I didn’t know how to run the program that actually collected the race times. Therefore, I had a person do the entries and races for me. He made me look good!
After 3 meets, I started to get it down. After 30, I really got it right. It was time consuming but rewarding. I found a free Website builder on line and built a WYSIWYG website for the team. No coding needed! LOL
I was in the construction business so I bought a popular program to help with the bookkeeping. I set it up using the manual, page-by-page, step by step. Eventually I was able to save time with 1 entry accounting.
I was also involved in commercial real-estate sales and development, where I became aware of advertising and how it would drive people to call about an ad. The more people that called the better the chance of a sale! (That’s called Traffic)
Through-out the years I gradually became more aware of the internet and it’s potential.
My interest in marketing was sparked again when our son left for college and a career in business/marketing.
So here I am!
“My Motivation”
I never really became interested in internet marketing until I heard the story about several Senior citizens who attended a "free" seminar.
You know the type of seminar where the speaker is good looking, well-spoken, enthusiastic, well-scripted and pitching products or services in a thinly disguised informational format loaded with perceived promises of wealth or at least an easier life.
And where, at break time several associates or if you will “cohorts” jump out of their seats and head quickly back to a display table to generate initial excitement and momentum to generate sales.
The senior’s by the way were fleeced of over $5000.00 each for 5 websites/domains and some phone consultations to help set up the sites.
The thing that impressed me was these older folks had a need and were looking for an answer.
Secondly, about 2 years ago I ran into a old High School classmate, who when asked proceeded to tell me that he wasn’t doing very well and didn’t know if he’d ever be able to retire. I could tell he was a little down mouth despite having a good job, being healthy, having been married to the same gal for a long time, a couple great kids, and a few grand kids. He has had what I would call a successful life and many people would envy him.
So I figured I would do some research and see what I could do help these types of people.
