When I decided to give internet marketing a shot, I was a disaster. I took quite a while between deciding to become fully committed and actually taking action. With my personality and background, I generally expect and like to know where I am going to end up before I start.

When I started out I thought multi-tasking was the way to go. I’d sit down to “Work” and end up going in circles.

This was me.

  • Check my email :  Nothing there
  • Check my clickbank account:  No Sales!
  • Check out:  NASCAR.com
  • Check out my Paypal account:  No Sales

I came to realize that I hadn’t done anything but surf the internet for a few hours.

What I mean is that often when we are working on our internet marketing business, especially when we are just starting out, we lack focus.

I certainly did.

Focus: In order to get things done, and make serious progress on projects and tasks, it’s essential to stick to one project at a time and one task at a time. This is accomplished by tuning out all distractions and blocking off periods of time to work without phone/e-mail/television interruptions. The key to success is focus. Keeping your thoughts and article/post writing  on a specific topic will allow you to keep the length right.

When you find your mind wandering write down the thoughts and there is your next focused post!

Remember to keep your reader interested and engaged.
